Wheelchair Accessible Dinner by the Sea

During our weekend in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen, my son Alex and I had dinner at Loods 10 in Breskens. The restaurant is very close to Landal Holiday Park Zeebad Breskens, where we stayed, so it was a practical choice after arriving and unpacking.

Loods 10 has a beautiful location near the coast, with a view of the North Sea and the Western Scheldt. We sat outside behind glass, which was perfect to stop the wind while still enjoying the sea view. The weather was excellent — probably the last warm weekend of the year.

Wheelchair accessibility at Loods 10

For wheelchair users, Loods 10 is accessible. I had no problem having dinner there, but I recommend planning your route in advance. Many roads along the coast are one-way only, so getting there can be a bit less straightforward than expected.

A wheelchair accessible toilet is available, but I did not check it myself during our visit.

Food and atmosphere

The decoration is cosy, with of course a real beach vibe. The menu offers plenty of choice, from bites to share to mussels, salads, steak and several vegetarian options.

I chose the pan-fried sea bass fillet, while Alex had the pasta with scampi in a tomato and cream sauce. Both dishes were cooked well and very tasty. A nice personal touch was that the chef came by to ask if everything was okay, which made the evening feel welcoming and relaxed.

Final thoughts

Loods 10 Breskens is a good option if you are looking for a wheelchair accessible restaurant near Landal Zeebad Breskens or a barrier-free dinner spot by the Dutch coast.

With accessible seating, sea views, cosy decoration, a varied menu and friendly service, it is a pleasant place for a relaxed dinner in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen.

My name is Kimberly, and I visit the Tricentenaire "Centre de jour" in Bissen, Luxembourg, two days a week. In 2018, I had a brain hemorrhage in the area of the brain stem. Since then, I have been using a wheelchair due to balance problems. I speak slowly and unclearly, have some eyesight problems, and don't have much strength or coordination in my right hand and my right side. I am using my left hand to write, type and eat, but as I am originally right-handed, it is a bit of a challenge.

I live in Ettelbruck, Luxembourg, but I was born (1969) and raised in The Netherlands.
