Dalí Restaurant, Ghent

Dalí is the restaurant attached to Aparthotel Castelnou, where I was staying during my weekend trip to Ghent — so it was a natural choice for post-arrival Friday evening dinner. The entrance is barrier-free, whether you’re a hotel guest or visiting from outside.

The menu features local and seasonal dishes alongside some classics. I had asparagus as a starter and cod for my main. My daughter went for cheese croquettes followed by a Ghent classic: Ghent Stew with fries — it looked really good, and next time I’d probably order the same.

Street parking is available nearby, including spots for people with reduced mobility. With a Handicap Park Card, you can also park anywhere in Ghent for free, mentioned the hotel receptionist.

The terrace is cute but not barrier-free. A wheelchair accessible toilet is available, as far as I could tell.

Verdict: A convenient and enjoyable dinner, especially if you’re staying at the hotel. I’d recommend trying the Ghent classics.

My name is Kimberly, and I visit the Tricentenaire "Centre de jour" in Bissen, Luxembourg, two days a week. In 2018, I had a brain hemorrhage in the area of the brain stem. Since then, I have been using a wheelchair due to balance problems. I speak slowly and unclearly, have some eyesight problems, and don't have much strength or coordination in my right hand and my right side. I am using my left hand to write, type and eat, but as I am originally right-handed, it is a bit of a challenge.

I live in Ettelbruck, Luxembourg, but I was born (1969) and raised in The Netherlands.
